Every once in a while an artist comes along who pushes the envelope and offers up a twist on a classic. Amanda Wachob is such an artist. The hours that are taken to produce these tattoos are unseen. Their quick, energetic, and painterly expressions are so fresh they look impermanent, but will last a lifetime.
Amanda's work trends with other artists I've posted about, photographers, Peter Kun Frary, and Andrew Zuckerman. The common thread in all of their work, (besides the striking use of color) is the ability to change, and question the viewers perception of what is real and what is not real, what is sustained and what is fleeting.
I thank these artists for allowing me to stop and take a second look and actually see what I am looking at.
